What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What's in the article?

Most portable air conditioners can be easily installed properly at home, unlike central air conditioning and mini split units that require professional advice. Our portable air conditioner installation process will guide you through the step-by-step process in installing your portable AC with ease! Here's how:

How to Install Portable Air Conditioner: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Read the Manual of Your Portable Air Conditioner

Always read the manual first. The user's guide should show you the step-by-step process to properly install your portable air conditioner, as well as the list of parts included in your adjustable window kit so you can check if your items are complete. Your manual should include warranty information as well in the event that your portable AC unit breaks.

Step 2: Check Your Window Kit

Check the parts of your window kit. Depending on your brand and model, your adjustable window kit should include foam seals, exhaust hose adapters, slider sections with vents, coupling, window brackets, and various rivets and screws to secure everything in place. Refer to your manual for a complete list of all parts included in your window adapter kit.

Step 3: Secure the Exhaust Hose to the Window

Next, you will need to secure the exhaust hose adapter and window adapter to the window. To do this, you'll need the window kit of your portable air conditioning unit, as well as some screwdrivers, and a measuring tape.

Measure Your Window and Apply Foam Seal

Measure the length and height of your window using the measuring tape. Cut out sections of foam seal to the correct specifications, and apply them to your window. These foam seals should keep the draft out, as well as bugs, dirt, and dust.

It is a good idea to measure your window according to the height of the window adapter for a tight fit, and make sure the foam seal fits snugly all around your open window panes. If your sliding window adapter does not fit in your window, you can use a piece of plywood or plexiglass to fill in the gap.

Adjust the Window Bracket

Connect the vent hose and drain hose to the window adapter, and place the adapter on your window. Use duct tape to seal the gaps around the connection point where the vent hose and the window adapter meet. Slide the window closed, making sure the adapter is secured in place. Adjust your foam seal and gap filler material as necessary.

Secure the Bracket

Once you've adjusted the window unit, use the included window lock brackets to secure everything in place. This will prevent your windows from loosening open, and will keep your window adapter in place as you use your portable air conditioner.

Step 4: Connect the Exhaust Hose Adapters

Connect the exhaust hose and drain hose to their proper connections on your portable AC unit. Make sure the connections are airtight to prevent hot air from getting into the room, and use duct tape or electrical tape to secure the hoses of your portable AC in place.

Step 5: Plug in Your Unit

Plug in your portable air conditioning unit to assess your installation work. Check for any signs of warm air escaping through the ventilation hose, which may indicate improper installation. Inspect the window frame for gaps, and adjust your installation accordingly.

Step 6: Adjust the Temperature and Humidity Settings

Once you've determined your installation process was a success, you can now adjust the temperature and humidity settings on your unit, and enjoy the cool air conditioning system brought to you by your portable air conditioner!

FAQs

#1 Can I install portable air conditioner by myself?

Yes, you can! Portable air conditioners rarely require professional installations, which makes them convenient and user-friendly units that are efficient in cooling, and are simple to install. All the parts needed to install your unit are included in your window kit.

#2 Do all portable air conditioners have to be vented out a window?

Most portable ACs were made to be ported out the window, but a window is not a requirement. As long as there is a way to vent the portable AC outside, either through a window, door, or any other opening, you should be able to use your portable AC without any problems.

#3 Do portable air conditioners use a lot of electricity?

The energy consumption of your portable air conditioner depends on your usage, as well as the cooling capacity of your unit. Energy consumption is one of the factors you need to consider before buying your unit, as well as price, cooling power, and space requirements.

#4 How do I install a portable AC in a horizontal sliding window or a sliding glass door?

A conventional portable air conditioner works best with vertical sliding windows, but modern units may also have adapter kits for horizontal windows, and sliding glass doors. Check out our guide to install your portable air conditioner on a horizontal opening here.

Why Portable?

Portable air conditioners are plug-and-play units that require little to no installation to function. A portable air conditioner contains an exhaust hose that delivers hot air outside the room, and all you will need to install your portable air conditioner is a window with an electrical outlet. It is convenient and adjustable.
