What is the Cool Mode in Your Aircon and When to Use It?

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What's in the article?

In a tropical country like Singapore, staying cool and comfortable is always a priority. But more than staying hydrated and shying away from the sun, a lot of people turn to air conditioners to prevent the effects of intense heat and humidity.

This is why when it comes to the most common air conditioner modes, the cool mode is the feature that reigns supreme. But apart from giving you an added cooling advantage, what does it exactly do for you and your unit?

In this article, we’ll discuss the different benefits of turning the air conditioner cool mode on and when’s the best time to use it.

How Does the Aircon Cool Mode Work?

Like with any air conditioner type and brand, the cool mode is widely considered as the default mode for any air conditioner unit. Since its main function is to bring in significant cooling and convert it into cold air, it’s heavily reliant on the aircon’s compressor.

When you turn the cool mode on, you would usually only need to set the desired room temperature that you want to achieve and the level of the unit’s fan speed. Once this temperature is reached by the aircon unit, the compressor automatically stops and the fan remains working to keep the air regulated in the room. It’s as simple as that!

When Should You Use It?

The cool mode is only ideal when you need your air conditioner to cool significantly, as leaving this on the entire time won’t really guarantee the cold temperature to be maintained. That’s why we recommend only turning it on as soon as you arrive at home or at the office (but we highly recommend turning on fan mode first for about 15 to 30 minutes before switching to this aircon mode).

Remember, keeping it on the entire duration can cause you sky-high electricity bills since it uses the most power consumption compared to other modes in air conditioning units.

So if you want to avoid overworking your air conditioning unit and paying double the amount of your bill, consider turning the feature off after your room reaches the desired temperature. Additionally, experts also recommend keeping your aircon unit’s temperature at 25 degrees Celsius.

The Benefits of Using Cool Mode

The cool mode works best when you need significant cooling in the midst of an extremely hot day. Here are just some of the main benefits that one can experience when using this mode:

  1. It cools your room at a constant level - When it comes to getting cool air fast, the cool mode is the only feature that you can depend on to make a room’s temperature drop. However, if you want to cool the room at a faster rate, try checking if your aircon unit has a quick cool or power chill mode. This feature, usually found in today’s newer and more advanced air conditioner units, works faster than the cool made, allowing it to lower the room’s temperature in an instant.
  1. It reduces humidity levels in the room - Since the cool mode allows a room temperature to get significantly cooler, any humidity present in the space gets reduced. This humidity is often felt by way of dry air and excessive moisture, things that are more common and present during the dry season.
  1. It cools your room at a faster rate - Compared to standard cooling settings, turning on the unit’s cool mode can give you cool air at a faster rate. That’s why this mode is often recommended for people with busy 9-to-5 schedules; it allows them to experience comfort right away after a busy day at work or being exposed under the sun or any humidity-filled location for a long period of time.
